Four Easy Spring and Summer Hair Styles

We've been sharing a lot of fun spring and summer styles here on the Sweetest Stitch blog. We are so excited for the embroidery, bell sleeves, tie-dye, and distressed jeans to make their way from our store to your backyard cook outs and concerts.

When it comes to style, our philosophy is that easier is better. When you shop with with us, all of our pieces should go effortlessly together and with what you already have in your closet. As you create fun spring and summer outfits, we wanted to share a bit of hair inspiration. Each of these styles is easy to pull off and will keep the hair out of your face all day, no matter where you rock your favorite summer look...

braided bun hair style

A Braided Bun

You don't have to know how to do a fancy fishtail braid to pull off this chic braided look. It combines one of our favorite lazy girl hair styles, the top knot, and mixes in one tiny braid and one large one. It would look great with an off-the-shoulder top or dress to show off your sexy neckline.

How to Rock It

Simply pull a small section of your hair from the front and braid it all the way down. Pull it back with the rest of your hair into a ponytail. Simply twist the braid around your hair tie and pin in place!

The Messy Bun Remix

We told you we love the top-knot. It's such an easy way to stay fuss free during those busy days when you're on the go. We love this new version with a half-up bun. It works well with long or short hair. Wear it with one of these white jeans outfits for a fresh take on warm weather style.

How to Rock It

After you secure your hair half way up in a hair tie, simply play around with a really tight and twisted bun or a full and messy bun depending on the look you're going for. Hair spray and bobby pins will help keep this style on tight all day and night.

See the messy bun on Pinterest here.

A Hidden Twist

If you want something a bit more polished, try this half-up look. It will go perfectly with a simple dress like our With a Twist Dress in nude for a happy hour or afternoon winery trip.

How to Rock It

Start by curling your hair to create a beachy wave.  Tease the hair on the top of your crown to create some lasting volume. Pull the top part of your hair together and twist right at the back of your head. Secure with bobby pins and lots of hair spray. You can use the point of your comb to pull a bit more volume to the top. For an extra feminine look, pull our pieces to frame your face.

 double buns

Double Bun for Double the Fun

We'd be lying if we said we weren't stalking Coachella babes for inspiration this month. One of the most popular hair styles was the double bun. It's spunky and totally stays put no matter what you're up to. Wear this with one of these four festival ready looks

How to Rock It

You can wear this style as a half-up look or go all the way, which we recommend for those really hot days. Start by parting your hair with a comb. It might help to have a friend lend a hand to make sure your part is extra straight. Then, secure each section with small hair ties toward the back of the top of your head. Have fun with twisting your hair around the hair tie for different heights and effects for your buns. Secure with bobby pins and hair spray for extra party protection.

We found a bunch of double bun hairstyles here.
