We're always inspired by the spunk of Stephanie of Drunk on Vogue. Her passion to bring joy and confidence to other girls and women is all we could ask for in one of our favorite bloggers. With her blogiversary just around the corner, we decided to talk with her and share her favorite Sweetest Stitch looks with you!
Let's get started:
When did you first fall in love with fashion?
I’m not sure I will ever be able to pinpoint a specific moment. I know that I absolutely adored playing dress-up as a little girl, and I think instead of that desire going away, it only became stronger as I grew older.
When/Why did you first decide to start a blog?
I began my fashion-related Instagram about three years ago. When health issues left me unable to work a “regular” job, I knew I wanted to pursue something in the fashion field that I could do from home. I had already grown a following, so I decided to turn it into something more, and on August 1st of 2015, DrunkonVogue.com was born (which means my one year blogiversary is coming up and I couldn’t be more excited)!
What is your favorite part of blogging?
The community, absolutely. I’ve always loved making friends and forming close bonds with people, but never really had anyone who was so passionate about the same things as me or had the same dreams. Blogging has introduced me to so many like-minded boss babes, and I know I’ve formed many lifelong friendships.
What draws you to the Sweetest Stitch brand?
First of all, it’s local! I love the fact that I’m supporting an RVA brand! Secondly, the pieces are so versatile, and most everything will flatter many different body shapes and sizes. The price points are great for good-quality pieces, and I also like that the clothing caters to many different styles.
What are five summer essentials everyone needs?
-Versatile dresses that can be taken from day-to-night on a dime
-A comfortable and flattering bikini that’s easy to tan in (and doesn’t give you weird lines)
-A pair of block-heeled sandals in a neutral color (you can wear these with literally anything)
-A great pair of sunglasses (dupes are the best way to go, so if you drop them at the beach or lose them at a rooftop party, you aren’t mourning over a $346 loss)
-Makeup-setting spray that helps your look last all day in the heat!
Who are your favorite fashion bloggers to follow?
Oh, that list is endless! I get a huge amount of my summer inspiration from @CuppaJyo, @StyleLullaby (pictured above), and @NanysKlozet, and I also adore @AudrieStorme, @ByLisaLinh, @Emily_Luciano, @WalkInWonderland, @LynleePoston, and there are SO many more. Let’s just say I follow way too many bloggers, and there’s a bunch in RVA that are fantastic as well!
What is your favorite Sweetest Stitch item on the site?
Right now I’m absolutely going crazy for the Twisted Tummy Dress in Black. Such a fun piece that you could wear so many ways!
What is your favorite sweet treat?
MACARONS! That’s the easiest question ever - but ice cream is a very close second!
Tell us about Florida. Where are your favorite places to go when you visit?
Oh my goodness South Florida has such a massive piece of my heart. I love the bright and fun vibes down there. When I visit, I’m usually about an hour outside of Miami, but I always try to take a trip into the Wynwood Art District to look at all the street art. I find something new to love each time I go. Of course, Fort Lauderdale By The Sea is an incredible beach, and I try to make my way to this fabulous ice cream shop called Cherry Smash each time as well. Delicious ice cream with the cutest retro atmosphere.
What's a good book that you recommend we read?
I’m a crazy bookworm, so this could go on forever, but I’ll narrow it down to a couple that I just can’t live without. I’m a big fan of sci-fi/fantasy series, so I went a bit nuts over the “Red Queen” books by Victoria Aveyard. Definitely a fun summer read, and the series hasn’t been finished yet, so they’ll keep you anticipating more! I also love #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Amoruso (the founder and owner of Nasty Gal). Totally inspired me when I first started up my blog. And of course, my list wouldn’t be complete without any John Green novel, especially “Paper Towns.”
