Ever find yourself wishing summer was still here? Dee shares a beauty tip that helps you keep summer smells around you all year long. Below, we introduce you to our longtime model, Dee. Let's get to know, Dee!

off the shoulder

Where did you grow up?
I was born and raised in the Middle East. I didn't move to the U.S. until I was a freshman in high school.
Who was your favorite band in high school?
My favorite band was definitely System of a Down. I was obsessed with new metal back then. I honestly still love them.
When did you first fall in love with fashion? Was it a gift you received? Was it a TV show? Was it a trip?
I remember when I was little my mom would take me and my sister shopping once a month for new trendy outfits at the mall. She would always tell us to pick out anything that stood out to us. I always picked beaded crop tops, colorful dresses and jeans with floral patterns on them.

What is your favorite clothing item you own?
Right now I'm obsessed with this rust colored jumpsuit that my best friend got me for my birthday. It's plain, sleek and the color is perfect for Fall. I'm planning on wearing it for an upcoming post on my new blog "liveamongchic." Follow us on Instagram @liveamongchic to see how I'm going to style it.
What is your favorite Sweetest Stitch item on the site?
My current favorite SS item is the "Bare It All Dress." I love a versatile black dress because you can dress it up or dress it down and you always look classy no matter where you're going. Stay tuned to see how I'll style this gorgeous SS dress on liveamongchic next week!
What is the sweetest thing you have ever seen?
When I was a kid, my Grandma would let me stay in her bedroom when I couldn't sleep at night. I once opened up a drawer in her bedroom vanity out of curiosity and found a box filled with old and new candid pictures of all of her children and her grandchildren. I love that she kept all of the pictures of her kids growing up. Although pictures are mostly digital nowadays, I like to keep photos of my loved ones as well.
What is your favorite sweet treat?
I am obsessed with pistachio and walnut Baklava. I can finish an entire box on my own! I can never get enough of that sugary goodness!
If you could tell anything to your high school self, what would it be?
I would tell myself to just ignore all of the people that tried to bully me and put me down. I wouldn't let anybody tell me what I should or shouldn't be wearing or doing and I would definitely tell myself to stand up for myself more. I've learned to do that now and it's honestly the best thing anyone can do. Just do you and don't worry about what the people are going to say.
What was the last sweet gesture you did for someone else?
I was working as a assistant program director this past summer and hosted an event for a group of international students. When it was over, there was so much food left, so I walked over to Monroe Park and distributed sandwiches, chips and cookies to the homeless. It was such a great feeling knowing that someone who was hungry got a good meal that night.
What was the last great book or article you read?
D- My favorite book of all time is "The Alchemist" if you haven't read it, I recommend doing so! I'm now reading "7 Habits of Highly Effective People" so far it's great.
What is your favorite beauty secret?
I always wear sunscreen, even when it's cold and rainy outside. I have normal to dry skin so it gives my face a dewey and a natural highlighted look. I also love the way it smells, it reminds me of summertime all year long.
What is one thing about you that most people don't know?
Most people don't know that everything I have and own, I've paid for and worked for myself. I've put myself through school to get my Master's Degree and have been financially supporting myself for the past few years.
Wow! Thanks for the inspiration, Dee! We can't wait to follow your blog, your journey, and your modeling on Sweetest Stitch
